CULTURAL TRAILS OF THE SCENIC RIM
The Scenic Rim is home to some of Australia’s most stunning landscapes. In 2018, Studios and Events: Cultural Trails of the Scenic Rim celebrates 10 years of artists opening their doors to the community through the Open Studios program. Scenic Rim once again invites you to share in the rich artistic offerings of this region.
This year over 220 artists open their studio doors at 26 locations over 5 weekends in May and June. 2018 introduces our Scenic Rim On Location Arts Workshops over 26 & 27 May at 5 locations across the Scenic Rim – places are limited and bookings are essential.
OPEN STUDIOS of the Scenic Rim
2018 Studios Weekends:
5th & 6th May – Tamborine Mountain – 10am – 4pm each day
The Open Studios of the Scenic Rim weekends are held annually throughout May and in 2018 until the first weekend in June, allowing visitors to see artists at work in their studios. Studios are open from 10am to 4pm on the days indicated. Appointments can be made outside these times directly with the artist.
Most of the work on display in the studios is for sale, and the majority of artists are able to undertake commissions. Many are available for workshops and artists’ residencies.
Open Studios are situated across the Scenic Rim including Canungra, Beechmont, Boonah, Mt Alford, Harrisville, Tamborine Mountain and Beaudesert.
Tamborine Mountain is only 1 hour from Brisbane and 40 minutes to the Gold Coast. A plateau at 550 m, it is renowned for offering up four distinct seasons, so the landscape and the gardens will be different every time you visit. Best known for its beautiful rainforests and spectacular waterfalls, there are walks to suit most abilities.
Tamborine Mountain is home to acclaimed artists, musicians and performers and boasts a bohemian coffee culture. Award-winning wineries, galleries, vintage outlets and a diverse range of other activities ensure there are plenty of things to suit the interests of all visitors.
Free entry – 10am – 4pm each day
