Tamborine Mountain Country Markets, a feast of craft and food, fresh produce and artisan goods
Held on the second Sunday of the month from 7.30 am to 1.30 pm, the biggest Markets on the Mountain are a great day out, and a fantastic place to shop for that special occasion.
It also a fantastic opportunity to pop your head into The Green Shed, where local growers gather weekly to deliver their home grown produce.
The produce market, sells freshly picked, seasonal, certified and non-certified organic fruit and vegetables, as well as honey, coffee, jams, preserves, chilled kefir, herbs and plants.
They also stock a great selection of local fresh baked goods, artisan breads and gluten free products from Yasabel Cottage Kitchen.
And if all this makes you hungry, there is plenty of food to enjoy, perhaps a cup of coffee, some proffertjes (Dutch pancakes), German sausages (try the “Knackwurst” with mustard – yum!) or be tempted by baked jacket potatoes or fresh corn on the cob.
There is often live music and other entertainment for the family. Usually there’s a singer or performer on the gazebo stage, giving these markets a relaxing country atmosphere. Large shady trees keep you cool in summer, and some open areas allow you to soak in the sun on cooler days.
Little kids can have pony rides or play in the kids’ castle area, or have some fun with the small kid’s car ride. The ‘Tamborine Mountain County Markets’ are definitely family-friendly, sometimes several dozen prams are seen parked in the eatery area!
A unique and exciting shopping experience on Tamborine Mountain, the Country Markets are packed with plenty of things to see and do, a value packed day for the whole family. See artists at work, buy an unusual gift, stock up with fresh supplies from the grower or listen to live music.
Gates open to the public at 7:30 am. Be sure to arrive pretty early, as parking is limited, and plan an hour or two to wander through the market.
Permanent traders access via the Front Gate from 5.30 am, and casual traders via the back gate from 6.30 am.
